How to measure for Martingale Dog CollarsPlease measure according to these instructions when ordering martingale dog collars.
Using a soft measuring tape, measure around the neck where you want the collar to sit. Take care to get an accurate measurement here for the best custom fit.
Next, measure around the widest part of the head, just in front of the ears. This is to ensure that the collar will slip over your dogs head.
Please measure carefully before ordering your collars. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your measurements and the collar you are choosing, please email Rusty-Dawg Pet Products.
Adjusting your Martingale Dog Collar
To ensure your martingale dog collar is properly adjusted, move the collar up to the narrowest part of the neck and pull upwards on the control loop (the part the D-ring is attached to). The two metal slides should come together but not touch. You should have at least a two finger distance between the two slides. This will ensure the collar will continue to tighten should your dog back up, preventing the collar from slipping off.
How to measure for No-Pull Dog Harnesses
If you are not sure what size harness you need, use a soft tape measure or if you do not have one, you can use a piece of string or ribbon, mark the measurement around the chest and then measure the string from the end.
The most important measurement is around the chest at the largest point. Because our harnesses have 4 points of adjustability, with the chest measurement, we can help you choose the size that will fit any size or bodytype. Refer to the sizing information below.
